VCU Intercultural Festival

On April 22, PURE Richmond joined scores of other performers at Virginia Commonwealth
University's annual Intercultural Festival, which
highlights art, food and dance from around the world.
     After
PURE Richmond's performance, troupe members joined To The Earth bellydance teacher Dvora Baldwin in teaching a short bellydance
lesson to participants from the audience.

Arthritis Walk

In April 2007, members of PURE Richmond joined in the 2007 Arthritis Walk at Stony Point to dance for
walkers at the start and finish line.

PURE Richmond chose the Arthritis Foundation as one of its main charities because the condition affects the lives of several troupe members, as well as their friends and relatives.
     At the walk,
PURE Richmond members all wore
buttons bearing the name of Gayle Harless, the best friend of
PURE Richmond member Jewell Ford. Gayle had suffered from arthritis and died not long before this year's Arthritis Walk so PURE Richmond performed in her honor at the event.
